About Joey

For nearly twenty years, my first vocation was education.

I served as a professor of classics, academic leader, and consultant within both higher education and independent schools. During that time, I had the privilege of teaching thousands of students, mentoring families, and receiving awards for excellence in teaching. Much of my work centered around the enduring questions that have shaped thoughtful societies for centuries: What is the good life? What forms strong households and communities? What kind of habits and institutions help people flourish over time?

Over the years, however, I became increasingly aware that many of the challenges facing families were not merely educational or philosophical. They were financial.

Families were anxious. Even high earners often felt financially stretched and disorganized. Parents wanted to invest in Christian education, preserve family rhythms, practice generosity, and build stable homes, yet many lacked a coherent financial framework to support the life they were trying to build.

At the same time, I had already spent nearly a decade helping individuals and families as a financial coach. Again and again, I saw that financial planning was never merely about numbers. Money decisions are deeply connected to priorities, habits, relationships, and long-term vision.

Eventually, I realized I wanted to devote myself fully to helping families navigate these questions with clarity and wisdom.

I completed a professional degree in financial planning and launched my own independent fee-only advisory practice focused on serving classical Christian and church-centered families.

Today, my work combines the two worlds I know best:

  • thoughtful formation,

  • and practical financial guidance.

I believe good financial planning should do more than maximize returns or optimize retirement projections. It should help families bring order and intentionality to their financial lives so their resources support what matters most:

  • stable households,

  • faithful stewardship,

  • meaningful work,

  • generous living,

  • intentional education,

  • and long-term family resilience.

My clients are often families trying to live thoughtfully in a culture that constantly pressures them toward busyness, consumption, and financial overextension. Many are making intentional choices about schooling, vocation, family rhythms, or generosity. They do not simply want generic financial advice. They want financial guidance aligned with the kind of life they are trying to build.

As a fee-only advisor, I do not sell products or earn commissions. My role is to provide objective advice and long-term partnership grounded in trust, prudence, and clarity.

I believe money is never merely financial. It shapes households, habits, opportunities, and ultimately the lives we build together over time.

Helping families steward those responsibilities wisely is work I consider deeply meaningful. Reach out anytime. I am here for you.

The best is yet to come,

Joey
