Why do we invest? A one word and a one sentence answer.
Here’s a big question with a surprisingly easy answer: Why do we invest? Let’s reply to this question with a one word response and a one sentence response.
Why we invest in one word: income.
Why we invest in one sentence: We invest so that at that point in our lives when we either no longer want to work for income or we no longer can work for income, we have income.
We invest for the income-not-from-work moment. Do you see that we will all experience such a moment? Every single one of us.
It’s not an if, it’s a when.
The next questions include:
Ok, how much money will I need at that moment?
Ok, how do I build that kind of income-producing wealth?
Ok, what the heck should I invest in?
Ok, but I’m a person of faith — what are my options?
If you’re not sure whether you’ll have enough invested for that moment, or if you’re not sure whether your investments align with your biblical faith, I can help.
Through it all, however, don’t let this simple truth of investing get lost in the details: we invest for income.
